We are pleased to announce that Dr Gary Hays has agreed to become the new CEO of Pecten BV from 29th January 2024. He will be based in the Netherlands and in Kazakhstan.
Gary did a Chemistry degree followed by a PhD in Physics. He worked for Shell for over thirty years, starting in R&D, but has had roles in the business, technology, strategy, project management and HR, many of the jobs global in nature. Since leaving Shell fourteen years ago, Gary has consulted widely through his two consulting firms, with clients in countries as diverse as Kazakhstan, Russia, Iran, Serbia, Ukraine, Italy, Germany, France and the Netherlands. He has worked closely with partners of smaller, niche consultancies and the large global consultancy firms. Gary has left his mark in various leadership roles and served on boards of a number of commercial and non-profit corporations, including volunteer organisations. He has a track record of bringing people together and helping them to deliver outstanding results together.
Gary is looking forward to collaborating with the 80 consultants who have already chosen to join Pecten, together with the many other ex-colleagues who also consult around the world.
Gary’s appointment allows Pecten to both organize internally to become a top-class professional consultancy, to support our Pecten consultants in their work, and most importantly to achieve value for our clients, in particular regarding the Energy Transition.
Expect to see increased activities in all regions of the world, where we already feel the pull from customers with an interest in consultants with a Shell background. Pecten is built on the “Power of us”. This includes the collaborative ways of working Pecten Consultants exhibit in support of the needs of clients worldwide.
Dagmar Mekking, who has been acting CEO since Pecten’s inception in September last year, will move to the Pecten BV Supervisory Board and continue her support in every possible way.
